Chief Technology Officer

The Chief Technology Officer (CTO) oversees Networking, Communications Infrastructure, Service Operations (NISO), and data center operations and services. NISO provides the networking and voice services that connect UChicago within the institution and to the world. The NISO team also provides support for the Science DMZ, a purpose-built research network that provides UChicago data intensive researchers a dedicated, high-speed network pathway to collaborate globally. The CTO is also responsible for the University’s four enterprise data centers supporting hundreds of millions of dollars worth of administrative and research computing, including Midway 1, Midway 2, and the Genomic Data Commons.
